Amersham Texels Soon after taking over a flock of Texel sheep, in June 2009, we won a second prize at Kent County Show. On 29.5.2010 we entered our first lambs at Hertfordshire County Show.
We got the first, second and fourth prizes for Texel ewe lambs and the second, third and fourth prizes for ram lambs. We also received the Hertfordshire Championship Rosette, the Texel Championship Rosette, and the Eastern Texel Breeders Club Sash.
We attended the English National Texel show at Worcester on 30th August 2010, and received Orders of Merit for all four lambs having a Breeding Index within the top 10% of the breed (2 were in the top 5%).
Herts Show 28 May 2011 Shearling Rams: 1st and 2nd prize. Shearling Ewes: 3rd prize. Rams Lambs: 1st and 2nd Ewe Lambs 1st and 3rd, and we received the Show Reserve Championship.
